Support Shalom
As you know, these are critical times in our fight against homelessness and hunger. These problems exist not only on a national level, but right here at home in our own community. There are approximately 4,000 homeless individuals and families living in poverty in the Bloomington area. Your support of the Shalom Community Center is at the heart of the fight against hunger, reaching out to the homeless and the poor who are most in need.
The center is a nonreligious not-for-profit charitable organization under section 501(c)3 of the U.S. Internal Revenue Code. Your contributions are tax-deductible to the full extent allowed by law.
Thank You for Your Support!
Thank you for your contributions to the Shalom Community Center. We welcome cash gifts, volunteering, and in-kind donations*. You can also donate online by using the “Donate Now” button or you may send checks to Shalom Community Center, P.O. Box 451, Bloomington, Indiana 47402-0451.
Employer Matching Gifts: Many employers will match their employee’s charitable gifts through company matches. This means that any donation you make to Shalom Community Center could potentially be DOUBLED with the help of your company. Some companies also reward employees for volunteering in the community by providing volunteer grants to the nonprofit you volunteer with. Many companies also have corporate foundations that fund the nonprofits their employees support. To find out if your company has any such programs, contact your human resources department.
Automatic Monthly Gifts: Shalom Community Center’s Monthly Gift Program makes it easy to support Shalom Community Center throughout the year. Gifts are transferred automatically and securely through a bank account or credit card. Monthly donations may be changed or canceled at any time.
Stock Gifts: The Shalom Community Center accepts donations of publicly traded stocks, bonds, and mutual funds.
Workplace Campaigns: Each fall many companies and government agencies host workplace-giving campaigns. Through these campaigns you can earmark your donation to go directly to the Shalom Community Center. All you need to do is write-in Shalom Community Center as your designated beneficiary on your workplace giving form.
Special Events and Parties: Shalom Community Center plans events throughout the year that help raise funds for our programs and provide our volunteers with diverse ways to support our mission. If you love throwing parties, why not make your next one benefit the Shalom Community Center? Your creativity could help your community.
