Christmas Hours

Shalom Community Center will be open on Christmas Day from 8am until noon with reduced services. Breakfast will be served starting at 8am and a special early lunch will be served from 10-11:30. Food at the lunch will include turkey, ham, mashed potatoes and gravy, green bean casserole, salad, rolls, cake, and pies. Services will return to normal on Tuesday, December 26th.

“A lot of families are one paycheck away from being homeless…it’s scary!” This was the case for Selena as well. Selena was in a hospital in Terra Haute where staff had referred her to various homeless shelters in the area. A Home for All

When you pause to actually think about what it may mean to have a home for all people, chills creep over your skin and hope settles somewhere within. The hope and inspiration that fuels Shalom Community Center is the foundation for Thursday, November 10th’s event calling on our community to house each one of the current 340 homeless people in our city.
