Carlisle Employees Compete for Shalom

On September 8, Carlisle Industrial Brake & Friction employees held a fierce, but friendly competition to benefit the Shalom Community Center.

Over the course of the evening, two teams vied to see who could collect the most toiletry donations at local stores. They asked shoppers to purchase extra items like shampoo, soap, and deodorant that they could the donate to Shalom. After collecting the donations, they convened at Shalom to weigh the items and celebrate the drive’s success.

The Carlisle group was able to collect over 286 pounds of donations. The estimated retail of these goods clocks in at over $1,400! In addition to the toiletries, the hard-working employees raised $89.94 in cash and received another $100 donation from Employment Plus, Inc.

Would you or your organization be interested in holding a similar special event to raise funds and awareness for Shalom? If so, please contact our Volunteer Coordinator, Pam Kinnaman (812-334-5734)  to begin bringing your idea to life!
